Chisago Lakes Rotarians John Pechman and Kristine Fuge hold the Rotary geocache that was placed in Chisago City. The cache is believed to be the first one placed by a Rotary Club. Geo caching is a treasure hunting game where you use a GPS to hide and seek containers with other participants in the activity. www.geocaching.com |

On Saturday, December 5, 2009, the Chisago Lakes Rotary Club, with the assistance of Santa and the Chisago City and Lindstrom Fire Departments, collected toys for Anonymous Santa and the Family Pathway food shelf. This event was an overwhelming success. Over $500 was donated, along with numerous toys and food. These donations will benefit families from the community who are in need in an effort to make their Christmas brighter. |

Principal Warren Retzlaff of Lakeside Elementary School is pictured with Rotary President Craig Lindstrom and students. Lakeside, the Middle School, and Chisago Lakes Area High School received book donations from the Chisago Lakes Rotary Club. Our Rotary Club donates hundreds of dollars in books to local public school libraries annually in honor of the Rotary guest speakers who present at the Rotary’s weekly meetings. The School District is very grateful for this service club’s donations.

The Chisago Lakes Rotary Club wished our exchange student from Taiwan farewell during our annual lake cruise held in July. Candy returned home after spending a year in the Chisago Lakes Area while staying with three different host families. We really enjoyed the privilege of sponsoring Candy and are looking forward to sponsoring another student in the future.
